Our Food Philosophy
Meals are a favourite part of our daily activities aboard Passing Cloud. Our food philosophy holds that the cultivation, distribution, preparation, and appreciation of the food we eat are critical to our individual well-being, and the well-being of our environment. Whenever possible, we source and serve foods that are sustainably, locally, and organically grown, produced, raised, or caught in BC.
Our passionate and professional chefs are culinary-school trained and/or Red Seal certified and have extensive experience creating fine dining experiences in unique culinary environments.
Our chefs and crew alike take great pride in preparing and serving our guests delicious meals that are healthy, plentiful, beautiful, and immersed in the ecosystems and cultural traditions of coastal BC.
We love to feature sustainable seafood – including wild Pacific salmon, halibut, black cod, Dungeness crab, and spot prawns – paired with British Columbia wines.
Finally, we do our very best to accommodate our guests’ dietary preferences and restrictions within the constraints of our on-board facilities and the challenges of provisioning in remote wilderness locations.
