Bear Conservation Biologist
“We shall not cease from exploration
And the end of all our exploring
Will be to arrive where we started
And know the place for the first time.” – T. S. Eliot
Rosie has a background in geography and environmental studies and now works as a field researcher for the Spirit Bear Research Foundation and as a consultant to the Kitasoo/Xai’xais First Nation in Klemtu, BC, conducting research for an indigenous laws research project. Having grown up on the southern coast of British Columbia, Rosie has been making her way north for the past four summers. Rosie has also studied trophy hunting satisfaction, success, and its economic value in comparison to ecotourism in the Great Bear Rainforest. Low tide is Rosie’s favourite time of day and she loves nudibranchs almost as much as bears. She is keen to share her knowledge of the Central Coast aboard Passing Cloud.
