“Love the world as your own self; then you can truly care for all things.”

– Lao Tzu

Graham “Jaahljuu” Richard is a descendant of Kyaanuusalii Codfish People, a Haida family of Kayxal the raven matrilineage. He lives in HlGaagilda Skidegate, where he works as a full-time Research Writer with the Council of the Haida Nation.

He volunteers with Saahlinda Naay Haida Gwaii Museum as Treasurer and recently became the newest member of the Haida Gwaii Repatriation Committee. He participates in Hltaaxuulang Guud ad K’aajuu, a Haida dance group based at Kay Llnagaay, which has sought to honour Kuuniisii Haida ancestorsby supporting unnumbered ceremonies for decades. Most recently he was honoured to contribute to SGaawaay K‘uuna, a full-length feature film in Haida language, as one of the script-writers and as an on-set script supervisor.

While there is still so much to learn, his experience will give visitors access to a general understanding of Haida Gwaii.
