Whale Channel, Great Bear Rainforest

Not surprisingly, given the spectacular nature of the wildlife, landscapes, and seascapes we experience, photography is another big part of our expeditions. From smartphone photography and videography to professional photography tours, and from tidepools to grizzly bears, photography is a wonderful way to capture and share your encounters and experiences with us.

Our guides are experienced in catering to the ambitions of photographers the best we can, while also always following our best practices for wildlife viewing, always putting the well-being of wildlife first.

Each year we operate a number of dedicated photo tours led by either James Thompson (jamesthompsonphotography.com) and Brad Hill (naturalart.ca). Please check our schedule or inquire about these tours. We also work closely with Owen Perry for our website design, photography, and videography (owenperry.ca and circa1983.ca)

Our photography tours aboard Passing Cloud normally have just six participants, and the ship boasts a spacious salon with a large screen for image review and workshop sessions, and plenty of table space for working on and charging laptops. As of Spring 2022, we will also begin offering photography tours and instructional workshops based from Outer Shores Lodge. Please inquire for more details.
