Nick grew up in Edmonton and attended the University of Alberta on an athletic scholarship, earning a mathematics degree and multiple national titles as member of the varsity swim team. After graduation, the mountains called and Nick began working at backcountry lodges. 

Unexpectedly, Nick found himself most at home in the kitchen and a newfound passion for cooking was discovered. Working his way up from dishwasher, to breakfast cook, to pastry chef, Nick gained experience cooking in everything from rustic mountain huts to helicopter skiing chalets. To further hone his skills, Nick attended Northwest Culinary Academy in Vancouver. 

Nowadays, Nick is living his dream of combining wilderness adventure alongside creating wholesome and healthy meals for skiers and hikers. He is very fortunate to be able to share this passion with guests from around the world aboard Passing Cloud
