“Men wanted for hazardous journey, small wages, bitter cold, long months of complete darkness, constant danger, safe return doubtful, honour and recognition in case of success.”

– Ernest Shackleton

Born in the foothills of the Canadian Rockies and raised in the Maritimes on Prince Edward Island, Liam has always felt at home in both the mountains and at sea. Drawn to travel and explore from a young age, it has been a natural progression to develop his career as a professional guide.

Liam’s guiding career has spanned over 15 years, most of this time has been spent working in all corners of British Columbia’s wild coast. But his desire to share his passion for the natural world with those around him has brought him guiding expeditions all over the world including Antarctica, the Galapagos Islands, the Amazon, Andes, the islands of the South Pacific and the Canadian Rockies.

He studied Coastal Adventure Tourism at North Island College, is an avid sailor, surfer and certified by the Association of Canadian Mountain Guides. Liam currently resides in the small community of Tofino on the west coast of Vancouver Island with his wife where they own a tour company offering a variety of local hiking and trekking adventures.

This is Liam’s 6th season with Outer Shores Expeditions as First Mate and Guide.
