Hi, I’m your Outer Shores photography guide, James Thompson! I’ve been passionate about wild places and the animals that inhabit them for as long as I can remember. This led to undergraduate and master’s degrees in zoology, as well as learning essential wilderness travel skills through various outdoor pursuits.

My photographic training has been at the hands of the Rocky Mountain School of Photography, and also through studying with nature photography legends Art Wolfe and Frans Lanting. I’m fascinated by the dynamic interplay between land and ocean along our wild BC coast and photographing in this vibrant ecosystem is my passion.
